Our complex lives make so many competing demands on us. We are harried. We are separated from those we care most about. And we lose touch with the person we want to be.

The Orchard House at Pied Beauty Farm provides a respite from the unrelenting pace of electronic inboxes, piles of laundry, commutes, pickups, and drop offs. The Orchard House is a simple, Nordic-inspired house in the beautiful Dane County countryside where you can be refreshed, reconnect with the one you love, and find space to reimagine the life you want to live.

Fire, Water, Air, Earth: An elemental retreat where time slows and life simplifies.

The Orchard House is not for everyone, but for some, it's exactly the place they need.  You'll start the wood stove with paper and kindling; there is no push button start, but the flames will crackle and pop. You'll make and tend a fire to heat the hot tub in the forest clearing, but when it's hot, you'll soak in the woods and under the stars. You'll swing windows and doors open wide to let light and air move through the house.  There is air conditioning, but you'll find that the house is designed not to need it.  You can wake up to sunlight pouring through the bedroom windows, or you can pull blackout curtains to sleep as late as you like.  You'll be welcome to pick apples, pears, raspberries, and herbs that grow in the fields around the house, but you'll have to stroll through the orchard or garden to find them.  The Orchard House is a unique retreat, but, of course, you are one of a kind, and it might just be the perfect place for you.
